Click onto each photo for some basic hints on how to keep safe on the water. Alternatively follow the link above.
Even though most people consider a paddle board as a form of floatation, should you become seperated from it and due to the speed of our tides at Exmouth, it is wise to ensure that you wear a life jacket.

Exmouth RNLI have attended some paddle boarding incidents, when they have begun to lose air and the Exmouth inshore lifeboat has been tasked to the users rescue. Please ensure that the valve is fitted tightly and if you do find it does leak please do not use it in the open sea. Dial 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard if you are already at sea.

Always keep a fully charged mobile with you and place it into a water proof case. Ensure that it is around your neck for quick access rather than stored in a dry bag. Always attach a leash to your board and ankle to keep within a safe distance should you fall off the board.

Add the APP SafeTRX to your mobile and register it with the coastguard. When planning your water session use the app to list the details plus let someone know where you're going and your return time. Wear appropriate clothing, take a torch and keep in an area where you are safe. Outgoing tides and off- shore winds will take you out very quickly. Always go out with a buddy, check tides, weather, and most of all stay safe. In a coastal Emergency dial 999 or 112 for the Coastguard. 👍
